South Africa Vs Australia One-day Series Schedule and Test
South Africa is confident to give tough time to Australia in one day internationals and 20 twenty internationals.After a month plus break Australia would be in South Africa to play series against it probably in the end of February.
Both teams are making hard efforts to win two 20 twenty and ODIs and are try to take psychological advantage over the opponent. The first match two 20 twenty internationals would start from Jan 11, 2009 at Melbourne Cricket Ground while 2nd 20 twenty international would be at Brisbane Cricket Ground, Woolloongabba, Brisbane on Jan 13, 2009.
1st match of one day international series would start from 16 January at Melbourne Cricket Ground while 2nd match would start from Jan 18, 2009 at Bellerive Oval, Hobart while 3rd and 4th one day international matches would be at Sydney Cricket Ground and at Adelaide Oval on 23 and 26 January respectively and 5th and final one day would be on 30th January ,2009.
All matches of one day international series and 20 twenty international series would be day and night except 2nd one day international which would be played in Day Light. South Africa could not defeat Australia in 3rd and final test match but have won the series after waiting for 12 year. Last time when South Africa won the series was the year 1992-93 and after a long period of time South Africa won the series in Australia against Australia. Graem Smith, South African skipper said that we started our preparation much earlier than this tour and this is way, we got victory in test series against Australia and we kept in mind that Australia is one of the strong team of world cricket.
South Africa tried its best to give a white wash defeat in test series and if they could succeed then they could easily become the holder of record to give Australia a white wash defeat after 122 years. Injured Captain Graem Smith took part in the 2nd innings of 3rd test but could not give triumph to his team and could make only 3 runs but he was declared man of the series at the end of the 3rd test. He came at number 9th for batting but because of injury he could not make score well and thus could not save his team from defeat. In last test South Africa were required to score 376 to make a history but they end their innings at 272 runs and if South Africa could win this match then they would snatch the world number one title from Australia but in last match Australia planned well and remained successful in defending its title of world’s number 1 team.Suddal was declared man of the match of 3rd test as he took 3 wickets in 2nd innings while he took 8 wickets overall in the test.
