Liposuction - An overview
You would have often discovered bulges of fat deposits in various parts of your body like abdomen, buttocks, thighs and face. One most common method to remove these bulges of fats is Liposuction.
Liposuction surgery, with its body contouring techniques, gives you a perfect shape, makes you slim by removing excess fatty skin bulging around various parts of your body thereby enhancing your self-image. It is necessary for the one who undergoes liposuction surgery to have good health, regular exercise regime, firm and elastic skin and should not be more than 20 pounds overweight. The procedure to conduct liposuction surgery is not as complicated as other cosmetic surgeries. Before operating the patient, he/she is injected with anesthesia- general or intravenous sedation. This surgery is done with the help of a small stainless steel tube, called cannula. A suction pump is connected to this tube. Small incisions are made into the skin through which this tube is inserted. The liposuction surgery is complete when tiny tunnels are created in the fatty layers from the cannula tube. These tiny tunnels collapse after some time and body contour starts to improve.
There are two types of liposuction surgeries. The first is Tumescent Liposuction which involves injecting a saline solution into your fat deposits. This solution helps to contract the blood vessels, remove fats more easily, helps reduce loss of blood & relief from pain during and after surgery. The second one is Ultrasound-assisted Liposuction which liquefies the fats inside your body with its ultrasonic energy. Afterwards, liquid fats are easily removed from your body.
There are certain risks involved in liposuction surgery as well. These risks vary from uneven body contour, infection to anesthesia, loose skin, fats & blood clots, fluid loss or accumulation, swelling of skin, damage to nerves or skin. What kind of tape do you use to keep the nasal cannula in place and is their anyway you found to keep your baby from ripping it off?
My son is a moth old now, the tape the hospital gave us was very rough on his skin, his checks were bright red from it. We have been using band aids, just the sticky part, which seem better for his skin but he likes to reach up and pull his tube off, we have him wearing gloves all the time, which sucks, but it worked for awhile, now he just gets his whole hand behind the air line and pulls it off.
Does anyone have tips or suggestions?
i dont have a baby on oxygen. but i found the hospital tape rough on my skin too when i had a dressing on. i switched to use paper tape.
