Flat Feet Problem -- visit a podiatrist or visit a popular private orthotics store?
I have flat feet and am in need of arch support/orthotics. I was also told by my chiropractor that I need a heel raise because one leg is about 1/2" shorter than the other.
There are a lot of popular private/custom orthotic stores in my area, such as GoodFeet and others.
Is it going to be better to have medical orthotics made by a podiatrist or made by one of these type of stores?
Which is more comfortable and actually works better?
10-15 years ago I had orthotics made that I obtained through a podiatrist but they were very uncomfortable. I had better luck with stores like Good Feet many years later, but I'm wondering as I get older and my issues are increasing (such as major back pain and misalignment of the spine), who I should go to.
Have podiatrist obtained orthotics improved?
I would go to a podiatrist. Good feet only fit you with common sizes. Nothing is custom made. My family member was very unhappy with them because they insisted on fitting her with something that never helped her. They are much to expensive.
