Save Space With a Stackable or Folding Teak Chair
If you need an extra seat or two when the family gathers for a holiday meal, a stackable or folding teak chair provides the seat without costing you the space. And you get to enjoy the luxurious and warm color of natural teak, rather than the cold metal of other folding chairs. Look for any unused space around your home; one of these spaces could provide the right size nook for your extra seating.
Stackable chairs might require a larger space, but if you have room for one plus a few inches, you can keep the set together. To find if a stackable teak chair will fit your empty space, obtain the measurements of the chair. If you would like to buy multiple chairs, add a few inches to each side to account for the chair legs. The more chairs you stack, the more inches you should add. Compare the chair measurements with the empty space in your home.
A folding teak chair is another option. If your space is really limited, you could tuck away one chair here, one chair there. Beside the refrigerator, under a bed, between a bathroom vanity and the wall, under a couch. If necessary, walk through each room of your house and note any unused spaces that could hold a chair or two. Once again, compare measurements to make sure that the chair, when folded, can fit the space you have identified in your house. Make sure to check not only the length and width, but also the thickness of the folded teak chair.
Teak is a hardwood native to Asia. It displays a beautiful yellow or golden color in its natural state. Because of natural oils that teak produces, it remains strong through years of use, even when it is not chemically treated or finished. The oils also protect it from rot and insect damage. Teak makes good decking material because of its ability to withstand weathering without warping or cracking. Furthermore, it doesn't become very slippery when wet because of its high silica content. Its history has proven that teak wood products are a good investment.
If you find it necessary to clean a teak chair, you can accomplish the task easily. Mix water and a small amount of a mild soap. Lightly scrub the chair with this soapy water and a soft brush or a non-abrasive pad. This action should remove dirt and dust. Rinse the chair well to prevent a buildup of soap residue. You can towel the chair down, but make sure it is completely dry before storing it again.
Storage space in a house can be a problem. As you concentrate on the spaces that are available, you may find room for stackable or folding chairs. Measurements can confirm your guess. After you buy a teak chair, you can use it inside or out. You should be able to accomplish any necessary cleaning with average household items.
