What shoes should I wear?
Recently, I had an appointment with the podiatrist. I have hypermobile ankles, stress on sub talar joints, etc. I wear plimsolls, except for PE at school, and he said that I shouldn't wear them anymore. I'm going to wear proper shoes, as in dress shoes, for school. However, I need shoes for the weekend, and I'm not sure what I should get. I don't want to wear trainers, but dress shoes would be a little fancy. Any idea about an alternative? I need to be able to put orthotics (insoles) in them as well, but I'm sure that'd be alright for most shoes.

Sorry, I should probably add a little more. They need to have a fairly rigid back/heel bit to them, decent amount of toe room, and laces.

I have to wear orthotics too!
Trust me it's very hard to find shoes that fit insoles for a lot of shoes you have to take the actual shoe sole out or cut it for the insole to fit. And for the insole to work there has to be something holding your foot in place e.g. laces on your shoes or a strap or something.
Here is a list of some of the shoes that fit my insoles:
Converse - they fit insoles! i don't know if you would count them as trainers but they look good with quite a lot of things.
Trainers (for PE) - i have to wear really weird saucany trainers as their proper trainers but even with them i had to take out the shoe's sole.
School shoes - as much as i would love to wear nice shoes like everyone else for school i have to wear doublestrappedd shoes, that are start right and they are horrible! 
It takes a very long time to find shoes that fit insoles and they are not always the nicest (like my school shoes) but hopefully if you wear "better" shoes with your orthotics you won't need them as long.
