How to Avoid Sinusitis

Sinusitis (sinus problems) home remedies?
I've had sinus headaches for as long as I can remember, and a recent MRI showed that I have sinusitis (the lining of my sinuses are sensitive and swell up frequently, causing headaches). What can I do when I start having sinus pain? I usually take a couple ibuprofen and use a nasal irrigation system, but this doesnt always provide immediate relief. A lot of times even taking painkillers (ibuprofen or acetaminophen) doesn't do anything at all, so I am miserable until the headache subsides. Do you have any advice for me? Any remedies that have worked for you? Thanks so much.
I've had similar issues. A cloth bag filled with dried corn, that I put in the microwave for one minute and apply to the face has given me some relief. I also use it on the back of my head and that seems to help as well.
Try using a steam kettle with lavender, and eucalyptus oil in the water. Breathing the steam seems to help open up and drain the sinuses, relieving the pain.
