Our feet are complicated little tools for our body. Because the foot is such a large combination of bones and joints, many things can be set out of place and cause pain. We use our feet every day and the impact we put on them can be very taxing. In proportion to the rest of our body size, our feet are quite small. The pressure being put on each square inch of our feet is equal to 50% more than our own body weight. It’s no wonder they hurt so often!
Aside from the obvious things we do to hurt our feet, such as dropping things on them, running barefoot, or even twisting them the wrong way while walking, several other factors can cause injury to them. Splint Boots? Galloping Boots? Open Front Boots?
I am looking for boots to protect from impact (she's new to training and keeps clipping herself) and later support when we start over fences. I've always used SMB but I find I'm tired of cleaning them constantly and want to see what other people use.

Anyone know of bell boots intended to fit the extra wide foot of a Shire/QH cross? Her feet are not nearly the size of a shire but they're ultra round and wide. Not in a million years am I going to get a pull-on over one foot, let alone both so no pull-ons! 
Hi,
I suggest that if your horse is clipping herself that you purchase yourself a pair of polo wraps. These are great to prevent clips on her leg and can be used for flat-work and jumping. The only thing is they wont provide much support in jumping so if you are going to be doing a reasonable amount of jumping a suggest open front boots. Make sure you read up and have a demo on how to apply the polo's though as if they are applied incorrectly you could blow a tendon in your horses leg or you can cause her plain discomfort. Polo wraps shouldn't get too dirty and most are machine washable.
Paddock boots are like polos without the fuss of applying them. They are great to prevent clips but wont provide much support.
If your ooking for support for your horses leg whilst jumping i suggest a pair of open front jump boots and fetlock boots for the back.
I think this is very long but hopfully i have been of some help.
