Camera Chest Harness

Can anyone recommend a universal bike rack for the back of either an '07 GTI or an '09 Jetta Sportswagon?
I don't want to alter either can or spend that much to get the VW one. I don't bike enough to make it a permanent fixture on either car. I want one that just straps on to the back.
I prefer a roof-mounted rack myself. I have Yakima cross bars & Highroller for my 08 Passat wagon.
