Okay,so im 22 wks pregnant and now all my books and stufff are telling me to wear support hose.Where do I get these?These are tostop varicose veins right?Also where can I get one of those pregnancy pillows cheap?My back is killing me at night.Thank you much!
The support hoses are to keep the veins in your legs from squeezing out through the tissues and becoming vericosed. They can also help with feet swelling by compressing the tissues and not allowing fluid to pool under your skin. They can be a bit expensive, about $6-$10 for a good pair. But if you get a run in them, you can still wear them under your pants. The best place to get them is a uniform store that caters to medical professionals. I am a nursing student, and I am told to wear them too, so I get mine there. As far as the pregnency pillow goes, any pillow will do. 2 are better though. One behind your back to keep you from rolling onto your back, which can restrict bloodflow to the baby, and one to go between your knees to keep your hips lined up right and prevent hip pain.
